James Holmes is the man who produced the ‘Dark Knight’ theater massacre in Colorado. TMZ has obtained a photo of him that was released by the University of Colorado, where he attended the School of Medicine. The shooter also had a photo of himself on his MySpace page (where he had no friends).

James Holmes was sporting red hair and told people he was “The Joker” when he was apprehended by police Friday morning, July 20. “We have some information, most of it is public. It clearly looks like a deranged individual. He had his hair painted red, he said he was ‘The Joker’ obviously the enemy of Batman”, NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said during a news conference.

According to ABC News, Holmes made the Joker remark to police, not during the shooting.

Anyway, it looks like Holmes was trying to recreate a scene from the 2008 movie, “The Dark Knight”. The movie features a scene where The Joker (played by late Heath Ledger), wears a red wig while destroying a hospital.
