Quoting Lady Gaga
I didn’t fit in in high school, and I felt like a freak. So I like to create this atmosphere for my fans where they feel like they have a freak in me to hang out with, and they don’t feel alone

Lady Gaga
We laugh, because it is funny to see Lady Gaga acting like a freak, but this girl may really have a problem. Of course, the good thing is that she admits it. It would be better for her to even do something about it. Something else than making a virtue out of being a freak.
Being a star implies a huge responsibility. Once everybody knows you, you become a model. You are responsible for those who do what you are doing. So telling your fans you are crazy and make them believe craziness is a good thing, shows nothing but lack of responsibility. A separate world in which the freaks are providing themselves with even more loneliness is not healthy. You have a problem, face it and try to solve it.
If one day Lady Gaga will just decide craziness is not her style anymore, then what? What are her fans going to do? It is very hard to take on your shoulders the weight of the others’ minds and souls because you may fail, especially since you are freak!

It's not a literal 'separate world', she just represents a dream come true to millions of people who have been outcasts or have been put down at some point in their lives. She gives people the confidence to be themselves without paying attention to the prejudice of people like you.
