It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work

Lady Gaga
There’s this silent feud between Madonna and Lady Gaga and it’s going on for years.
A few weeks ago, Madonna “covered” Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’. Actually, during one of her performances, she sang ‘Express Yourself’ and then went into ‘Born this Way’ and then moved on to another dong.
Do you see the point? She basically said that ‘Born this Way’ is pretty much the same song as ‘Express Yourself’.
For a few weeks, Lady Gaga made no comment on that matter. But during her performance in New Zealand (the same show she was hit in the head with that metal pole) she made some pointed comments directed at Madonna.
“It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work…And that doesn’t make me feel good at all. That just makes me feel like I’m not a good human being…I don’t even want to fight back because it’s more important to me to keep writing music. Because that’s really all I care about, is the music. Things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that’s what makes ‘Born This Way’ so relevant for me… We’re socially in a different place and it’s OK, we don’t have to all slice and hate each other anymore”, she said.
So Gaga is talking about respect and no hate. But does she respect Madonna by saying “Things are really different than they were 25 years ago”. She basically calls Madonna old fashion. That just ridiculously because Lady Gaga is practically copying exactly what Madonna did 25 years ago.
